The festival of the music 2010 in Bordeaux, will take place on the 21st June. It is an occasion for the amateur and professional musicians and groups to share their passion to anyone and everyone that will listen.
The idea was first broached in 1976 by American musician Joel Cohen, then employed by the national French radio station France Musique. Cohen proposed an all-night music celebration at the moment of the summer solstice. The idea was taken up by French Music and Dance director Maurice Fleuret for Minister of Culture Jack Lang in 1981 and first took place in 1982.
For this the 28th edition of the festival, you’ll be able to find free concerts, street performances and markets.
The festival of the music is an event coordinated by the ministry of culture, which makes it possible for the public to discover various different musical genres by the means of completely free concerts.
The festival is open to anyone that would like to perfom. The musicians who envisaged to play outside, on the terrace of a bar or on the street/place for example, must require a municipal authorisation of temporary occupation.
