Everyone once in their life surely has either wished they learnt a musical instrument or dedicated more time to perfecting their abilities. Why not learn the Ukulele? Now Bordeaux has it’s very own resident English and French speaking Ukulele teacher!

Bordeaux ex-pat Jon Lewis has been playing guitar for more than 30 years and took up the ukulele a while back when bags, kids and dog made it impossible for him to travel with his guitar.
He has since launched a YouTube channel of fingerstyle arrangements of traditional tunes, some tutorials and a few pop songs. The world’s most popular ukulele website, ukulelehunt.com named his collection of Celtic tunes for ukulele their book of the year in 2015.
If you’ve always wanted to play an instrument but never had the time, the ukulele is easier to get started than the guitar and is capable of the finest music. Most people can learn to strum the chords of a simple song in an hour or so – but to master the instrument is as challenging – and rewarding – as any other.
Jon can visit your home (Bordeaux area) and teach you the basics all the way up to advanced techniques. If you don’t have a ukulele yet, he can lend you one and give you some guidance on buying your own.

You don’t have to learn to read music but it’s recommended for younger learners who may want to progress to other instruments in the future.
