I utilise several different modalities to create a successful treatment plan for my clients.
Many clients come to me with the goal of losing weight, so I thought to share my approach as Spring and Summer are just around the corner.
A Weighty Issue
Being overweight is a fundamental factor in some of the most significant health challenges we can face, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, osteoarthritis and dementia.
Changing our perception of weight loss from being about looking good, to being about feeling good and living higher quality lives, now and into older age is a powerful motivator. I am very passionate about inspiring a lasting change in my clients’ lives, and for a lot of you, losing weight will do just that.
Road blocks to weight loss
Research shows that calories from bread, refined sugars, and processed foods promotes overeating, whereas calories from whole vegetables, protein, and fibre decrease hunger.
Toxicity (in its many forms), blocks receptors of vital nutrients, especially minerals.
Chromium which is vital for sustaining blood sugar levels is blocked by Lead and Aluminium. Zinc which helps us smell, taste and appreciate our food is blocked by ALL toxic metals.
Toxins love to hang out in fat tissue so the more we have the more toxins we store – which is another good reason to keep the weight off.
Parasites or other infections – these impair digestive function, causing inflammation in the body and blocking the utilisation of nutrients we consume.
This causes people to overeat and never feel satisfied as nutrients are given to fighting infection or to those ‘nasty’ parasites.
Emotional eating and Subconscious beliefs, such as – not wanting attention, afraid of change, afraid loved ones will change their opinion of us, not believing we are worthy of happiness.
We have all heard of people saying “I shouldn’t be eating this, it will make me fat”, or “I only have to look at food to put on weight” – these have a programming effect on the subconscious. These underlying beliefs can be cleared with Emotional Repolarisation Technique (EFT).
Check list for weight loss
✓ Fasting – such as intermittent fasting (from 7pm-11am) encourages the body to produce human growth hormone (HGH) for weight loss and anti-aging. It jump starts your body to burn fat instead of sugar as your fuel source
✓ Exercise – do high intensity interval training (HIIT), it also produces HGH
✓ Go for a high good fat and moderate protein diet with low carbohydrates. Don’t eat carbs before 3 pm to stabilise blood sugar levels (contact me for more in-depth information).
✓ Detox, Detox, Detox!
✓ Check on thyroid and adrenal function – which are very closely linked
✓ Address stress levels and make sure you are getting enough good quality sleep.
