Forget the weekend, save it for Monday! The first lunar eclipse of the year will take place on the 21st January.

To celebrate this natural phenomenon our friends over at Les Chantiers de la Garonne & Brasseurs La Lune will be hosting the first lunar event of the year!

Our favourite bio brewers, Brasseurs La Lune, is putting together an evening to celebrate this magnificent celestial event of the “Super Blood Wolf Moon”. Along with a few tasty craft beers and DJ Set by Leroy Washington, we’ve officially moved the weekend to Monday night along the banks of the Garonne.

For the record, Monday is the first lunar eclipse of the year which will be a Super Blood Moon.

During a lunar eclipse, a full moon’s bright facade will change. As the moon enters Earth’s shadow, all of the moon (or a section of it in the case of a partial eclipse) will turn a rusty colour. Sunlight scatters to produce the red colours of sunset and sunrise when it enters Earth’s atmosphere at a particular angle.

What a lunar eclipse displays is the colour of all of Earth’s sunrises and sunsets reaching the moon. This will occur overnight from Sunday 20th into Monday 21st January.
